HOW TO MAKE BUFFALO CHICKEN SLIDERS

The best part about this recipe is perfectly cooked chicken and an insanely delicious buffalo sauce that come together simultaneously in your crockpot with almost zero effort. We are talking about a dump-and-walk-away kind of recipe. These shredded Buffalo Chicken Sliders are perfect for any hostess with a plate full of to-dos or any of you who find yourself constantly stretched for time! And this Crockpot Buffalo Chicken can be used in a number different ways as well!

To kick off your Crockpot Buffalo Chicken Slider recipe, you'll add 2 to 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts to the crockpot, and top those off with Frank's hot sauce (not to be confused with Frank's Buffalo sauce), onion powder, kosher salt, and garlic powder. For a spicy buffalo sauce, feel free to add a quarter teaspoon to a half teaspoon of cayenne pepper.

The hot sauce mixture being poured onto the raw chicken in the crockpot.

Toss the chicken around in the sauce and top with about 5 tablespoons of cold butter, cut into cubes.

Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-5 hours, turning the chicken about halfway through the cook time. Once the chicken is fully cooked through, remove it from the crockpot and transfer it to a work surface. As soon as the chicken is cool enough to handle, shred it, return it back to the crockpot, and toss in the sauce to coat.

Once your chicken is perfectly drenched in Buffalo sauce, you can either toast your slider buns in the oven, on a buttered skillet on the stovetop or not at all! There's almost no wrong way to serve these Buffalo Chicken Sliders.

Place your chicken mixture on your slider buns, add your favorite blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing, cheese, and sandwich vegetation, secure with a toothpick, and serve! See below for topping ideas and delicious combinations!

Note, we also included instructions for making baked Hawaiian roll buffalo sliders below!

BUFFALO CHICKEN SLIDER TOPPING IDEAS

You can go big or keep it super simple with these Buffalo Chicken Sliders.

They're amazing with ranch dressing, sliced Monterey jack, lettuce, and tomato. We also love adding blue cheese dressing and shredded cabbage or dolling them up with extra blue cheese crumbles.

Want to take the crazy easy, yet still super delicious route? Serve with your favorite dressing, secure with a toothpick, arrange on a platter and serve!

A great way to keep your sliders from getting soggy before your guests get to them is by adding a barrier like cheese or lettuce between the saucy meat and the bun.

Another fun and easy way to serve these is by creating a slider assembly station. Set out toppings, dressings, and buns right next to the crockpot, and let your guests create their own buffalo slider masterpieces!

TOASTY BUFFALO SLIDERS WITH HAWAIIAN ROLLS

If you want to serve up toasty Buffalo Chicken Sliders with melty cheese, you'll probably want to take the Hawaiian dinner rolls route.

Remove the Hawaiian rolls from the package, place them on a work surface, and cut them in half crosswise. Take care to leave the rolls connected. Place the bottom half of the rolls on a greased baking dish or pan lined with nonstick aluminum foil, add a layer of sliced Monterey Jack cheese, and top with your cooked and shredded buffalo chicken.

Then, drizzle with any desired dressings and add another layer of Monterey Jack cheese slices over the chicken. Place the top half of the buns over the cheese, cover with foil, and bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for about 5 minutes more!

MAKE AHEAD TIPS

We all know how stressful it is to be trying to finish the cooking as your guests are arriving. Let's avoid that! Chicken and buffalo Sauce can be made in the crockpot up to 2 days in advance and reheated just before assembly time. Yay for saving our sanity!
