These fresh Peach Margaritas are everything a margarita should be, and then a little bit more. Sweet, tart, and refreshing, this peachy cocktail is guaranteed to take your summertime happy hour to the next level!

A full glass of peach margarita with an agave plant in the background and whole peaches and hugged limes surrounding the glass.

Real, fresh peaches make this margarita a smooth sipper with subtle floral notes, lending a delicious elegance and a touch more complexity in flavor than your standard margarita recipe.

Consider this your new favorite go-to cocktail for impressing your guests this summer. It's absolutely amazing for entertaining on the patio or by the pool. And, if you love margaritas, be sure to check out our Pineapple Margaritas and Cadillac margaritas too!

WHAT MAKES THESE PEACH MARGARITAS THE BEST

We first attempted this recipe with a true-blue margarita formula featuring tequila, triple sec, and lime juice, plus the addition of peach schnapps. But, we were disappointed to find the peach schnapps wasn't a big enough contributor to make this margarita truly peachy in flavor. And surprisingly, we also found the triple sec actually detracted from the peach flavor. Therefore, you'll find no orange liqueur on today's shopping list. Bonus!

As mentioned above, with the schnapps alone, this marg was still lacking in peach flavor. The solution? A fresh peach puree. Fresh peaches are crucial when it comes to a great tasting peach margarita. And, definitely, don't allow yourself to be intimidated by the idea of making a puree. It's extremely easy to do. In fact, all you need is a food processor or a blender to turn peach slices into peach puree!

Peach schnapps in combination with the peach puree delivered that big peach flavor we were looking for. With these two ingredients and our magic peach margaritas formula, you are guaranteed the most delicious peach cocktail you've ever had!

    HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Tequila | You can use either blanco (e.g., silver) or reposado tequila. Whichever you prefer is great. Our go-to favorite for this recipe is Casa Migos Reposado for its subtle note of vanilla that works so very well with peaches!

A jigger of tequila being poured into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. There is a bottle of tequila, peaches, and an agave plant in the background.

Fresh Limes | You can't have a peach margarita without fresh lime juice! Fresh lime juice has a tart flavor with just a hint of sweetness. It's distinctly better than the bitter, bottled stuff you buy from a grocery store. Fresh limes are zesty and sour but certainly not bitter; do not sub in bottled lime juice for fresh!

Half of a lime being squeezed into a cocktail shaker. There is a bottle of peach schnapps and peaches in the background.

Simple Syrup | Speaking of sweet, you will need just a touch of simple syrup for your peach margaritas. You can make your own simple syrup or simply buy it from either the grocery store or your local liquor store.

Peach Schnapps | Peach schnapps is an alcoholic beverage with peaches that have been fermented in sugar and distilled. It's fairly sweet and replaces the orange liqueur you would find in a traditional margarita recipe.

Fresh Peaches | As mentioned above, fresh peaches are a game changer when it comes to this peach margaritas recipe! You can use pretty much any variety of peaches; just make sure you use ripe peaches. Look for plump peaches without bruises or shriveled skin that give slightly when gently squeezed.

    HOW TO MAKE PEACH MARGARITAS

To kick off your peach margaritas, you'll start with the peaches. As far as quantity goes, you will need about 3 tablespoons of peach purée per margarita, which equals about one large peach per margarita. If your peaches are on the smaller side, you might want to purchase two peaches per margarita.

Making a peach purée is no big or daunting task; however, if you're going to take the time to make a batch, this is definitely one of those margaritas best suited for a crowd. Our peach puree will make enough for up to eight peach margaritas!

Peel your peaches cut them into slices, and place them into a food processor fitted with a blade attachment or a blender. Process the peaches until a smooth purée has formed, and you're done! Let's get to mixing.

A hand is holding a sealed cocktail shaker full of ice and peach margarita, about to be shaken.

You can make up to two peach margaritas in a cocktail shaker at a time. You will simply add the tequila, peach liqueur, freshly squeezed lime juice, simple syrup, and peach purée to the shaker. Seal the shaker and shake for at least 30 seconds.

A glass with ice and have peaches inside of it. There is a cocktail shaker pouring peach margarita into the glass.

Pour your peach margaritas into a margarita glass filled with ice, or you could also use rocks glasses if you'd prefer. If you want to take your peach margaritas up a whole 'nother notch, consider a sugar rim around your glass! Garnish with a lime and a few sliced peaches, serve, and enjoy!
