MEAT SAUCE 

ADD THE OLIVE OIL TO A LARGE PAN OVER MEDIUM HEAT.  ONCE HEATED, ADD THE GROUND MEAT AND BREAK APART WITH A SPATULA.

ADD THE ONION, SALT AND PEPPER.  COOK FOR 10 MINUTES, STIRRING OFTEN.

ADD THE CANNED TOMATOES....

SUGAR, SALT AND RED PEPPER FLAKES.

ALLOW THE SAUCE TO GENTLY SIMMER FOR 20 MINUTES.

ADD BASIL, STIR, AND SIMMER FOR ANOTHER 10 MINUTES.
