TO MAKE THE CRISP TOPPING:
MIX TOGETHER BROWN SUGAR, FLOUR, CINNAMON, OATS, AND SALT. THEN, ADD THE BUTTER AND MIX WITH YOUR FINGERS.
TO MAKE CHERRY FILLING:
TO A MEDIUM SIZED MIXING BOWL ADD THE CHERRIES, CORN STARCH, SUGAR, SALT, LEMON ZEST, AND ALMOND OR VANILLA EXTRACT AND COMBINED UNTIL CHERRIES ARE EVENLY COATED.
POUR THE CHERRY FILLING INTO A PREPARED BAKING DISH.
SPRINKLE THE CRISP TOPPING ACROSS THE TOP AND BAKE FOR 30 MINUTES.
