2teaspoonsonion powder
1 ½teaspoonsKosher salt
1 ¼teaspoonsgarlic powder
1poundboneless, skinless chicken breasts
5tablespoons cold, unsalted butter (cut into small cubes)
12slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
See notes below for fun topping suggestions!
Instructions
Add the chicken to the crockpot, followed by Frank's hot sauce, onion powder, Kosher salt, and garlic powder. Toss the chicken in the sauce to coat, and top with the butter cubes.
Cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-5 hours, turning the chicken halfway through the cook time.
Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove it from the crockpot and transfer it to a cutting board or work surface. As soon as it is cool enough to handle, shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces, and return it to the crockpot. Toss in the buffalo sauce to coat. For baked buffalo sliders, see recipe notes.
Toast your slider buns, if desired, and assemble with the desired toppings. Secure each slider with a toothpick and serve right away.
Notes
For Baked Hawaiian Roll Buffalo Sliders:
Make the buffalo chicken and sauce as directed above.
Preheat the oven to 350°F and have ready a greased baking dish or pan lined with nonstick aluminum foil.
Remove the Hawaiian rolls from the package, place them on a work surface, and cut them in half crosswise. Take care to leave the rolls connected.
Place the bottom half of the rolls on the prepared pan.
Add a layer of sliced Monterey Jack cheese, and top with your cooked and shredded buffalo chicken.
Drizzle with any desired dressings and add another layer of Monterey Jack cheese slices over the chicken.
Place the top half of the buns over the cheese, and cover with foil.
Bake for about 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for about 5 minutes more.
