1tablespoonolive oil
1teaspoonKosher salt
½teaspoonblack pepper
2tablespoonsunsalted butter, room temperature
4hamburger buns (preferably brioche or potato buns)
Lettuce, onions, pickles, and tomatoes for topping, if desired
Instructions
Make the Dill Sauce:
Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and whisk to combine.
Cover and transfer to the refrigerator until ready to use.
Make the Salmon:
Preheat the oven to 400°F and have ready a rimmed baking sheet lined with nonstick aluminum foil.
Pat the salmon dry with a paper towel and place it on the baking sheet. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Transfer the oven and bake for about 6 minutes, or until the center of the salmon flakes with a fork and is cooked through to your liking.
Toast the Buns and Assemble:
While the salmon is cooking, prepare the buns. Place a skillet over medium heat and allow it to come to temperature.
Smear a scant amount of butter across the face of each bun, place it buttered-side down on the skillet, and allow to toast for about 2 minutes in the pan. Prepare in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
Once the salmon is slightly cooled, use a thin spatula to separate the salmon from the skin. Assemble your salmon sandwiches with dill sauce and vegetables, as desired. Serve and enjoy.
