Ingredients
1 ½ounces (3 tablespoons)fresh-squeezed lime juice(from about 1 ½ limes)
1jalapeño, thinly sliced
1 ½ounces (3 tablespoons)Reposado or Silver tequila
1ounceorange liqueur (Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or Triple Sec)
½ouncesimple syrup or agave nectar
1 ½ounces (about 3 tablespoons)fresh-squeezed orange juice(from about half an orange)
Instructions
Add ice to a rocks/short cocktail glass or a margarita glass.
To a cocktail shaker, add lime juice and 2-3 jalapeño slices. Muddle with a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon until broken up.
Add the tequila, orange liqueur, simple syrup, orange juice, and ice. Shake for 30 seconds.
Pour over the ice, serve, and enjoy.
Notes
Pitcher for 8: Combine 1½ cups fresh lime juice, 1½ cups tequila, 1 cup orange liqueur, ½ cup simple syrup or agave nectar, and 1½ cups fresh orange juice in a large pitcher. Add 2 jalapeños, halved lengthwise, and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours. Remove and discard the jalapeños, then keep the margarita mixture chilled until ready to serve.To Serve: Rim glasses with Tajin ahead of time. Serve the chilled pitcher with ice, lime wedges, and sliced jalapeños for garnish.
