Texas Roadhouse Butter

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This recipe was created with the real deal at the table, taste tests were plentiful, and way too much butter was consumed, but the result? An identical match to that Texas Roadhouse Butter you know, love, and crave. This might just be the most accurate copycat recipe of all time and it only takes 5 minutes to make.

If you've ever had this stuff at the restaurant you know how incredibly light and fluffy it is. This recipe is no different! As light as air and an absolute delight to spread, this butter has just the right amount of sweetness and the perfect little kiss of cinnamon. It really is such a dreamy addition to any meal. INGREDIENTS

Butter | Unsalted butter is the recommended way to go for this recipe, but if you only have salted butter on hand, you can work with that. You'll simply omit the salt until the end and then salt to taste. Something even more important than whether or not your butter is salted is to make absolutely sure that it is at room temperature before using it. This step is not to be missed and your Texas Roadhouse Butter will not turn out well if your butter is cold.

Cinnamon | Cinnamon is such a powerful ingredient in this Cinnamon Honey Butter recipe, and a little bit goes a long way. It has a very complex flavor and adds the perfect little bit of warmth that makes this butter so delicious.

Honey | Clover honey is our top pick for the Copycat Texas Roadhouse Butter because of its light, sweet flavor that meshes well with cinnamon and doesn't overpower.  There are many different types of honey, each with different uses and unique flavor profiles. For example, orange blossom honey is great for sweetening teas, but because of its distinct citrus essence, it is not ideal for this recipe.

HOW TO MAKE TEXAS ROADHOUSE BUTTER

Quite possibly the most important thing about this entire recipe is that your butter is at room temperature. Room temperature butter is pliable and soft, yet not melty. If your butter is too cool, it will not take in the necessary amount of air throughout the whipping process to create that light and fluffy consistency that is so very indicative of Texas Roadhouse's famous honey-cinnamon butter!

Determining whether or not your butter is ready for whipping can be done by a very simple test -- a gentle poke with your finger! If you can gently poke the butter with your fingertip and leave an indention, your butter is ready for whipping!

For the whipping process, you will want to have an electric mixer ready to go, or you could use a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment. You'll begin mixing the butter on medium-high speed and keep going until the butter appears to have lightened in color and has almost doubled in volume.

Once your butter is light as air and twice the size, it's time to add some flavor. For this, all you need is honey, cinnamon, and salt. If you only have salted butter on hand, omit the salt from the recipe entirely, and rather, season to taste after your honey and cinnamon have been added. We spent a lot of time getting the flavors in this recipe perfectly balanced! You definitely don't want the sweet or the salty taking over here.

Using your hand mixer, mix all of the ingredients together until you can see speckles of cinnamon evenly distributed throughout the butter and it's ready to go! Serve your Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter alongside some warm dinner rolls and enjoy!

HOW TO STORE HOMEMADE TEXAS ROADHOUSE BUTTER

Use your Texas Roadhouse Butter immediately, or store it for a few days down the road!

If you're making this butter in advance, you can keep it stored in an airtight container to keep on the counter for up to 3 days at room temperature.

Technically, you could freeze this whipped butter, but know it won't thaw back to life quite as fluffy and light as it once was and since it is so quick and easy to make, we highly recommend just making a batch whenever you're going to be serving it.
