Want to take ranch dressing to the next level? Chipotle peppers, a squeeze of fresh lime juice, and a little cilantro will do the trick. Chipotle Ranch Dressing adds a smoky, tangy vibe and just the right amount of spice to any salad, veggie, or taco!

Thanks to the press of a button and the quick whir of a blender, this zesty dressing comes together in just 5 minutes, and instantaneously amps up the flavor of anything it touches! Want to serve it as a dip? We've got a recipe for that too. Ready the blender, and prepare to drizzle (or dip) to your heart's content.

HOW TO MAKE CHIPOTLE RANCH DRESSING FROM SCRATCH

Chipotle Ranch recipes do not get any easier (or more flavorful) than this. In fact, this recipe comes together with three insanely simple steps:

  1. Measure your ingredients.
  2. Add them to a blender.
  3. Press a button.

Shockingly easy, right? That really is all there is to making a seriously stellar homemade Chipotle Ranch Dressing. After about 15 seconds of blending, it's ready to serve (or chill -- whichever you prefer).

WHAT IS CHIPOTLE RANCH MADE OF?

The base of Chipotle Ranch Dressing is made up of mayonnaise, greek yogurt, and buttermilk. If you don't have greek yogurt, you can use sour cream. If you don't have buttermilk, use whole milk, along with a teaspoon of vinegar (white, rice wine, or distilled vinegar will work just fine).

It is seasoned with the same dried herbs and spices you would typically find in any ranch dressing recipe: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dill. What sets this recipe apart from a typical ranch dressing are the chipotle peppers.

In addition to the chipotle peppers, a squeeze of fresh lime and a little cilantro add a nice and zesty touch, rounding out the dressing perfectly.

WHAT ARE CHIPOTLE PEPPERS?

Chipotles are dried smoked jalapeños, but Chipotles in Adobo are dried, smoked jalapeños that come fully drenched in Adobo Sauce. The spice is not overwhelming, but if you are sensitive to spicy foods, consider steering clear of them.

Adobo Sauce is made up mostly of ingredients like chili powder, tomatoes, vinegar, garlic, peppercorns, cumin…and the list goes on. It’s for this reason, we’re grateful for the ever-so convenient Chipotles in Adobo.

Chipotle peppers add a smoky, tangy vibe to dishes and especially to condiments. Eh-mmmmm, Chipotle Ranch Dressing, anyone?

If you're all about that healthy lifestyle, it might sadden you to know the fat content here is really nothing to write home about. Shame, shame, shame. We're by no means claiming there is a massive health benefit to consuming this dressing, but we are of the mindset that as far as dressings go, it could probably be worse.

WHAT TO SERVE WITH IT

You can serve this dressing drizzled on top of any number of salads, and even pasta salads too. Below are a few of our favorite candidates for dressing up with a Homemade Chipotle Ranch!

CAN I TURN THIS DRESSING INTO A DIP?

If you're looking to turn Chipotle Ranch Dressing into a dip, simply leave the buttermilk out of the recipe and add the same amount of greek yogurt (or sour cream) in its place.

This will thicken it up, making it perfect for snacking on with either vegetables or chips!
