This Reindeer Chow Recipe is likely the most addictive christmas recipe on the internet! Sweet, salty, crunchy -- it's literally everything you could want in a Christmas snack recipe and more!

This festive mix is perfect for holiday snacking and homemade Christmas gift giving. It makes a total of 20 servings, so there's more than enough to go around. I thought about cutting back on quantities since this snack mix makes so much, but honestly, our family went through it so fast and it so truly delicious and enjoyable, I left it as it! You'll be glad there's plenty. Trust me.
If you're hosting for the holidays, serve it alongside a hot chocolate board and a cup of homemade cocoa for the merriest time!

Why You'll Love this Christmas Snack Mix
Every single bite of this reindeer chow is an absolute delight! Chex cereal, pretzels, popcorn and marshmallows take a turn in melted white candy wafers and get a festive touch with Christmas sprinkles. Then, it's on to the M&Ms, mini Reeses, and Muddy Buddy's, and your snack mix is complete. It doesn't get easier (or more festive) than this!

It's as easy as it is delicious, taking less than 10 minutes to whip up from start to finish. This snack mix is the perfect mix of sweet and savory; if you're looking for a mix more on the savory side, try these ranch oyster crackers! Same level of addictive, only without the sweet.
Reindeer Chow Ingredients
The great thing about snack mixes is they are completely customizable. You can leave in what you like, take out what you don't, add more of one thing, or less of another. Let those creative juices flow and have the merriest time throwing together your reindeer chow!
- Chex | You can use corn, rice, or wheat chex. Our go-to for this recipe is corn! If you're looking to make a gluten free Christmas snack mix, you could sub in Crispix cereal! If you have leftover Chex cereal, make a batch of spicy Texas Trash -- another TAK Christmas tradition!
- Pretzels | Pretzel sticks or twists work great for this recipe.
- Popcorn | Popcorn is especially great for adding great shape to snack mixes -- the candy coating sticks especially well to popcorn and so do the sprinkles! I grab a store-bought, pre-popped bag of popcorn from the grocery store. The Boom Chika Pop brand keeps best in our experience.
- Mini Marshmallows | The kids love this festive addition.
- M&Ms | This candy coated chocolate is a pretty crucial when it comes to adding Christmas color to your Reindeer chow! To make sure the color really pops, I add it in after the candy coating stage. And, you might want to grab an extra bag for some Christmas-themed M&M cookies!
- Muddy Buddys | This is basically store-bought puppy chow. Did you know that exists?! I love this ingredient for a snowy-looking addition. Well, that and its chocolatey, peanut butter flavor. If this is a combo you swoon for, I see haystack cookies in your holiday future!
- Reeses Minis | Speaking of peanut butter and chocolate -- swoon! This miniature candy addition is one of my family's favorites.
- Melting Wafers | You'll need melting candy wafers for this recipe. Our go-to brand is Ghirardelli; we this candy for making quick and easy batches of peppermint bark). The flavor is great and they melt down nice and smooth.
- Sprinkles | A combination of Christmas-colored nonpareils and jimmie sprinkles is the perfect touch to this reindeer chow recipe and makes it over the top festive in appearance! If you have leftover nonpareils, put them to use in our festive pinwheel cookie recipe and as for any leftover Christmas jimmies, you can use those to top off your favorite Christmas cookies with icing.

Other common ingredients in Christmas snack mixes are Cheerios, peanuts, and chocolate chips.
