This Oreo Pie Crust is the perfect blend of crunchy, chocolately goodness. Easy to cut and serve, this gorgeously thick crust is rich with flavor in every bite. All you need are Oreos, butter, and salt -- just three ingredients!

We love this chocolate cookie pie crust in our easy no-bake chocolate pie, but it also works great for Oreo cheesecake.

Why This Recipe Works
This pie crust recipe is great for novice bakers. Around here, we love pie but especially pies that are beyond easy to make. Take our food processor pie crust for example: it only requires a few ingredients and 10 minutes of your time. This one is even easier. We're talking three ingredients, and my bet is you can make the crust and get it situated in the pan in less than 10.
Versatile | Use this particular pie crust in any pie recipe that calls for baking in a 9-inch or 10-inch pie dish or even bar recipes baked in an 8-inch square pan. You can use it in both baked pie recipes and no-bake pie recipes.
Thick and Rich | Sure, you can buy a pre-made Oreo pie crust, but it won't be as thick, and (in my own personal experience) it's not going to serve well either. Protect your pie from a broken Oreo base and scattered filling by making a homemade Oreo pie crust. It's just so much better this way.
Addictive | We recently used this crust recipe in the place of my pastry pie crust. I usually make my chocolate pudding pie in that crust, and my daughter told me it was the best pie she'd ever had and begged me to make again for Thanksgiving. It looks like we might be breaking tradition to do this purely delicious, addictive crust instead!

Oreo Pie Crust Ingredients
Oreos | Of course, you need Oreos to make Oreo pie crust, but make sure to use the whole Oreo. Don't waste any time scraping the filling out. It's part of the crust. Do not use double-stuffed Oreos for this recipe.
Butter | The butter is very important for this recipe. It starts out melted, but as it cools, it actually serves as the binder for your homemade Oreo pie crust. Be sure to use unsalted so you have full control over flavor.
Salt (optional) | A little pinch of salt goes a long way when balancing out flavors. Although Oreos already contain salt, they are a dessert in and of themselves. When you add a sweet pie filling on top of that, a little extra salt goes a long way. Use a fine-grain, mild salt like fine sea salt.
How to Make Oreo Pie Crust
This crust recipe can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
Add Oreos | Add the Oreos and a pinch of salt (if using) to the bowl of a food processor fitted with the blade attachment. Process until fine crumbs appear.

- If you don't have a food processor, place the Oreos in a zip top bag (preferably freezer safe since these bags are typically thicker), and use a rolling pin to crush them as fine as you can. The finer the crumb, the neater the pie will slice.
Add Butter | Remove the feed tube and with the processor running, slowly pour in the butter. Be careful to measure your butter properly. Too much butter will cause baked Oreo pie crusts to slump down and buckle on the sides. Continue processing until the mixture appears evenly moistened.

Transfer to Dish + Pack | Transfer the contents of the food processor to your dish and compact it on the bottom and up the sides of the pie dish. Be sure to pack the crust tightly. This is what will ultimately keep the shape of your pie slices come serving time. You can use the flat bottom of a drinking glass or a measuring up to firm up and tighten the bottom of the crust. A spoon and your finger work best for tightening up the edges.

Chill | Transfer to the refrigerator to chill until ready to use for no-bake pies.
Bake | Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes for recipes that call for pre-baking pie crust; allow to cool completely before adding filling.

How to Use this Oreo Pie Crust Recipe
In Baked Pies | If you are using this Oreo pie crust for a recipe that calls for baking, like a cheesecake or a chocolate chess pie, pre-bake the Oreo crust for about 10 minutes at 350°F and allow to cool and set before adding the filling.
In No-Bake Pies | We love using this recipe for no-bake pies like our chocolate mousse pie and no-bake peanut butter pie. Allow the butter within the crust to set by placing the pie/pie crust in the refrigerator until fully chilled.
